Customer Appreciation

CPP customer David R., from Yorba Linda, California stopped by the showroom the other day in his '68 Camaro. David has installed CPP's front and rear Big Brake kit, hydraulic brake assist and many more CPP parts on this beauty. We love seeing our parts on such awesome cars and meeting our customers face-to-face. He was in buying parts for another project car...can't wait to see that one driving in one day! We appreciate the business, David. Happy New Year.

In Honor of Pearl Harbor

On December 7th 1941 the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor which lead to the United States entering into World War II.  Today marks the 71st anniversary of the bombing.  CPP's flag flies at half mast in Honor of the thousands of lives lost.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the brave men and women who continue to serve our county.

SEMA Frenzy!

Once a year, a frenzy takes over CPP as we prepare for the industry's largest trade show…SEMA! It is a large undertaking, but one we really enjoy as this enormous business-to-business show brings the biggest and best out for a week in the desert. This year, we stepped up our game and expanded our booth in the main hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Our 1957 Chevrolet chassis was a crowd pleaser along with the 2nd Gen Camaro, early Nova, and Mustang subframes which showed off our latest and greatest parts like the ALL NEW C5 spindles and 400 Series Power Steering Boxes. We were excited to meet up with many builders and owners of some beautiful show cars on display, featuring CPP products. In fact, the 1957 project car — "Bad in Blue", tricked-out by Kelly & Son Crazy Painters (Bellflower, California) was unveiled at SEMA to a large and enthusiastic audience. Other vehicles on display featuring CPP parts included: a 1964 Ford Falcon, a couple of '67 C/10s and a '64 Cadillac Coupe Deville. Check out our video and get an up front and personal view of the SEMA show and feature vehicles.

CPP in the News, Again!

It’s seems like every time you turn around CPP is being talked about in print or video.

Recently, Jim Campisano, editor of Super Chevy magazine, caught-up with our very own Jim Ries to discuss the amazing performance of Greg Barkley’s 1972 Camaro, which was fitted with a complete CPP suspension package.

The interview was conducted at the 5th Annual Super Chevy Suspension & Handling Challenge, held at the El Toro testing facility.

Watch the video, then check out the January 2013 issue of Super Chevy for the complete story.

Hot Rod Unlimited Features CPP

Nothing like dragging a 4-decade old car out of the desert sand (literally!), swapping out some brake, steering and suspension parts (from CPP, of course!) and hitting the track for some serious pounding. All this was captured on a recent YouTube episode of “Hot Rod Unlimited”.

Host David Freiburger, Hot Rod magazine's editor-in-chief rescued a '66 Buick Special convertible that had been abandoned in an Arizona backyard for 33 years. With some help from Source Interlink’s Tech Center Manager Grant Peterson, the car was outfitted with CPP’s Stage I Pro Touring kit, front disc brake kit, steering linkage, and 500 Series™ power steering box. Other than some new tires, the rest was left untouched.

Next, Freiburger and Camaro Performers magazine's Nick Licata took the Buick out to the El Toro testing facility and ran it through a series of tests. The results were amazing. Check out the video above; you won’t believe your eyes! Also, check out the full story in Hot Rod’s December 2012 issue.

Everyone one is talking about CPP’s new C5 Spindle Kits, and that includes Popular Hot Rodding magazine.

Designed for Camaro, Chevelle and Nova, this kit eliminates caliper piston push back and unpredictable brake pedal by using a C5 hub assembly on the factor spindle axle pin.

You can read more about it on Popular Hot Rodding Magazine’sblog as well as on its Facebook page.

Winner Arrives to Pick Up Prize

Winner, Mark Hanna (L) with Lokar rep Joe Marazzi
Mark Hanna, a loyal CPP customer, stopped by yesterday to pick up a Lokar Under-the-Dash Foot Operated Emergency Brake Kit for his ’54 Ford Coupe. How much did this set him back? Nothing. Nada. Zilch. How did Hanna work this kind of deal, you ask? He attended our Open House event back on a very rainy, wet morning in March and was one of our raffle winners. He was personally awarded his Lokar Midnight Series aluminum pedal assembly valued at $209 by local manufactures rep Joe Marazzi at CPP’s showroom. Mark lives locally and purchases many of his parts for his Ford Coupe, as well as his ’47 Ford Convertible and ’62 F-10 at CPP. Congratulations Mark!

The Show Must Go On!

Those of us that live in Southern California are spoiled by the mild weather…most of the time. Mother Nature had different plans for us on March 17th and the rain came down…in buckets! But as they say, “the show must go on”…and CPP’s Open House turned out to be a big hit even in a downpour.

Despite the wet weather, hundreds of classic cars and trucks showed up early on St. Patrick’s Day morning. Several local clubs organized cruises to our event including: SoCal Novas, led by R.K. Smith; Pickups Limited, led by Chris Travers; and the C-10 Club, led by John Oro. Even on a grey day, it was an awesome site to see these beauties roll up to CPP.

We did not disappoint with our jam-packed goody bag, weighing in at a hefty 8 lbs., thanks to our generous sponsors. Several shop tours took place throughout the day, giving participants an in-depth look inside our manufacturing, build and shipping departments, and a chance to get out of the rain for a bit!

Polly’s Pies kept everyone warm with their hot coffee, cider, cookies and cinnamon rolls in the morning and In-N-Out Burger arrived at lunchtime to serve up some delicious hamburgers courtesy of CPP.

The much-anticipated raffle began after lunch, with thousands of dollars of raffle prizes given away. Even the intermittent gusts of rain and wind could not dampen the crowd’s spirits as they grasped their raffle tickets, hoping to hear their number being called out. At the end of the day, two very lucky winners walked away with the grand prizes; Total Cost Involved’s 4-Link Rear Suspension Kit (value $975) and Scott’s Hot Rod’s Complete Mustang II IFS System valued at $3000.

Novas Invade CPP Once Again!

The 4th Annual Nova Cruise to CPP took place this last weekend and had another great turnout. Over 90 Novas gathered in the wee hours of the morning in Tustin before hitting the freeway for a 15-mile cruise through Tustin, Orange, Anaheim and Fullerton. As they arrived at CPP, Nova owners were greeted with goody bags filled to the brim with sponsor products and shop tours through the manufacturing and build departments. In-N-Out Burger arrived to serve up close to 400 hamburgers and 100s of raffle prizes were handed out.

At the end of the day, the participants gathered amongst the Novas (final count: 126) for our annual group photo and the awarding of the grand prizes. Hedman Performance donated a set of headers and CPP gave away a Nova Mini Sub Frame Kit and 3rd Gen Upper and Lower Tubular Control Arms to some lucky winners.
