Why CPP is Different: SEMA 2013

To give you more than what is average is our goal at CPP. From innovative product design to superior customer service, we are constantly working to give you added value. In this video, shot at SEMA 2013, senior CPP staff Ron Duncan, Danny Nix and Jeff Norton, share with you how we do that. Learn for yourself what separates CPP from the competition.

1966 Chevy Pickup: SEMA Road Trip

There's nothing like a good road trip to test new parts recently installed on a vehicle. And that's exactly what Jeff Sharell of Auto Sauce did after installing CPP parts on his blue, 1966 Chevy pick; he drove it 270 miles to SEMA. There he showed off his truck near the Max Grundy booth. Max, a well known graphic artist, not only designed much of the SEMA 2013 artwork, such as posters and T-shirts, but he also designed the artwork and grill that graces Jeff's truck. CPP product on the truck included our Big Brake Grand Slam kit and a power brake booster / master cylinder kit. Check it all out in the video above.

1957 Chevy Cameo at SEMA

This year at SEMA 2013, Chris Womack, of CW Restoration Shop in Huntington Beach, California, had his 1957 Chevy Cameo on display. This magnificent truck with it's striking red and white paint job featured many CPP products, including front and rear brake kits, master cylinder and booster, and all steering components. Chris took a few moments from his busy SEMA schedule to talk about his labor of love and the CPP products that are on it.  From this interview it's clear that he is thoroughly pleased with CPP's products and services.

Popular Hot Rodding Photo Shoot

Recently, writer / photographer, Johnny Hunkins stopped by with his 1968 Chevy II, Nova to do a tech story for Popular Hot Rodding. Using our new tech center, Johnny photographed the installation of our "Street Beast Hydrastop™" into his little beauty. After the installation was complete, Johnny took a moment to get a shot of his vehicle in front of CPP's building.

Cool 1987 GMC Jimmy

Every year there are dozens CPP customers in attendance with their vehicles at SEMA — all loaded with CPP products. This year, at SEMA 2013, Mike Losh, owner of a 1987 GMC Jimmy, took a few moments to talk about what CPP parts he has on his truck. Mike, a long time CPP customer, has used our parts before on his project vehicles, and plans to continue doing so. On this year's project truck he used our rack and pinion kit, big brake kit with cross-drilled rotors, braided brake hoses, brake booster/master cylinder and slip shaft driveline. It's clear Mike likes CPP's products and service.

CPP C-10 Chassis Spotlighted at SEMA

A hot new addition to CPP's booth this year at SEMA 2013 was our 1963-87 C-10 chassis display. Designed to give customers the opportunity to see where and how CPP parts fit on a C-10 chassis, it attracted people like bees to honey. They swarmed around the display getting a close-up look at the several dozen CPP parts that were mounted on it. It was so popular that writer Michael Harding spotlighted it on Rod Authority's web site (click here to read the story). Come check out this awesome display now housed in our new showroom in Placentia, CA.

Awesome '55 F-100

We love it when customers roll in to show off their vehicles. When Myles' Jamison of Huntington Beach, California stopped by CPP with his 1955 Ford F-100, it was no exception. His blue beauty is loaded with a wide assortment of CPP products including: tilt column with rag joint, a power steering conversion kit, power disc brakes (front), engine and transmission crossmembers with motor mount kits, lowered front spring kit, shift linkage kit, Ford power steering conversion pump kit, and hood tilt kit. The smile on his face was clear evidence that he was more than satisfied with every CPP part installed on his truck. And, that puts a smile on our face!

1949 Masterpiece

Recently, we had a really nice 1st series truck roll into our shop; beautiful red paint, nice lowered look. Owned by Tom Rowe and built by Lakeman Chassis in Fullerton, this early hauler sports a Corvette LS drive train and independent front suspension. Plus, it features CPP parts including our steering U-joints and steering shaft combination as well as many other components tucked neatly under that LS engine! Modern day performance combined with a timeless classic. We want to thank Tom for sharing his 1949 masterpiece with us.

Watch How Our Showroom was Created

CPP's beautiful new showroom has been open for a while. But do you know what it took to transform nearly 4,000 sq. ft. of ugly, empty warehouse into a huge, amazing showpiece? To see how it was done, watch our new video as we compress four weeks of work into several minutes of fun.

Salute to a Fallen Soldier

Major Jeffrey R. Calero of Queens, New York, a member of the Long Island GTO Club, had a passion for restoring muscle cars, especially his 1970 Pontiac GTO convertible. Sadly, in 2007, while serving his country in Afghanistan, Major Calero's passion was cut short by an IED (improvised explosive device).   To honor their friend and fellow member, the Long Island GTO Club decided to complete his project car and present it to his family.  Paul's Rods & Restos in Deer Park, Long Island is performing all the work at no charge and helping to make this a reality, CPP is donating parts including our Front and Rear Break Kit.  We are proud to be a part of this project, and we salute Major Calero and his family.

1954 F100

We enjoy visitors. So we were happy to see Rich Miller, co-chair of the F100 Western Nationals show committee, when stopped by the shop to show us his black 1954 F100. This little beauty features CPP dropped axles and disc brakes up front, a frame mount booster, and front and rear sway bars.

Machine Shop Moved

Our machine shop finally has been moved from our old location in Anaheim into our new location in Placentia. It took months of planning and hundreds of man hours to do it, but it was worth the effort. Now everything is consolidated under one roof, which means greater efficiency and quicker turn-a-round of our products. Check-out the video and see some of the effort that it took to make this a reality.

More Global Attention

Last year at the annual SEMA show CPP had several project cars on display. One of them was RUBY, a 1964 Cadillac Coupe De Ville owned by Joe Molina.

Recently, Japan’s Cruisin’ Magazine did a feature article on RUBY. She was also featured on the cover of Rockford Fosgate annual magazine, which ships 75K copies worldwide.

RUBY sports our Complete Performance Package and our steering wheel package. Locally or globally, RUBY and CPP products are real showstoppers.

Below, you can see RUBY in our video; "Cars & Trucks of SEMA 2012". It is featured mid-way in the video.

We've Gone Global

We received a great email from South America this week from CPP customer Marlon Ruiz. Marlon owns a 1951 Chevy 3100 truck and sent us photos of his classic truck. For the past 4 years he has purchased CPP parts and had them shipped to his business in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador. While he could have purchased parts locally, he didn’t. Marlon wanted the best so he bought CPP parts! Ruiz’s truck sports a CPP frame-mounted booster master kit along with our brake and gas pedal. Based on his enthusiastic email, we know he’ll be ordering more goodies from us soon.

Need a CPP Catalog? We’ve Got an App for that!

Thumbing through the pages of our CPP parts and accessories catalog can now be done anywhere, anytime. With our brand new app for iPads, available on Apple’s iTunes App Store, the CPP digital mobile catalog can be accessed right from the palm of your hand. With an estimated 68 million iPad users worldwide, we decided it was time to take our catalog to the iTunes store. The app is free and once downloaded into your device, all CPP parts can be viewed in great detail, with easy search functions, color-coded sections and interactive features.

With hundreds of new parts added to our latest catalog and the addition of our G-Body, Ford cars, Mopar and Cadillac sections, this is one app you will want to download. Got to www.itunes.com and search “CPP Retail App”.

Underneath the hood of this beautiful cherry red Lanzini paint job is CPP 2” drop spindles, front/rear big brakes, front/rear suspension, and a booster/master cylinder combo. Rob is all smiles when it comes to CPP price and performance. And, he assured us he’ll be back to get more goodies very soon!

Serving those who serve our country

Recently we had the pleasure of receiving a heart-warming letter and pictures from Captain Wylie Clough, a US Army officer serving our country overseas. Captain Clough owns a 1964 Chevy C10 outfitted with CPP parts, and he wanted to express his satisfaction with our quality and service. “I wanted to thank you so much for all the great parts,” he writes.

The items which Cpt. Clough installed on his truck include: CPP’s Grand Slam kit - power brakes (front discs, rear drums), dropped spindles, springs, shocks, Totally Tubular™ upper and lower control arms, Totally Tubular™ trailing arms, a PolyPlus™ front end rebuild kit, stainless gas tank, front and rear sway bars, fuel tank filler and cap, Ididit steering column, and a CPP trac bar.

We salute you, Captain Clough, for serving your country, and we are honored that you chose CPP parts for your truck.
